I would NOT work for family. And this is why, they tend to think since y'all are family, that both parties are helping one another out. Like paying you less for working long hours. Your doing her the favor by working there. I would have a talk to her. Either set you up on a regular and fair salary, or find someone else who will do it. Because anything over 40 hours is overtime, and I doubt she'll find someone willing to settle for that. Talk to her and see if you two can come to an agreement. Otherwise, give her your two weeks notice. Stuff like this comes in between families and makes thing unnecessarily stressful for all parties involved.

it is reasons just like that that i will never work for my family.....personally i am only working about 34 hours a week and i get about the same amount as you do....i would look for something else!!!! Or if you are close enough with your sister, then try talking to her about it cause you are only making 5.45 an hour....which is still above minimum but not worth working so many hours for!!! I don't do much at my job either and i am making alot more than that!!
Good Luck!!!

explain to her that if you went somewhere else you can work 5 days aweek and only 40 hrs and get paid the same or maybe more, and that you really hate to do this to her but it's not right you need time to your self or if you are gonna work 7 days a week you need to get paid more then that... good luck and stand your ground cuz sometimes family tends to take advantage when they know they can get away with it so speak your feelings....

Never work for family whatever you do its a hostile environment. First your sister feels like she can take advantage of you because your family and your co-workers feel like you get special treatment because your family. Anyhow find another job and tell her its a great opportunity for she will understand cause afterall you are family.

Ditch the Job!!!!
You can do better if you set goals for your self........
Personally i don't recommend working with family because they tend to sometimes take advantage just cuz your family......then you'll find that most of the time they will screw you over after they know that you don't seem to mind.
so for family sake evade those kind of jobs.....there not worth it.
i say a good advice that has helped me is to "keep your family close but not too close".....
good luck!!!!

I've worked for my Mom and step-Dad and I'll never do it again. I can't mix family and business together. That's just me so you have to decide this on your own. Sounds like the money's good anyway, so what's the harm?
BUT if it's gonna cost you a relationship with her, than definatly don't!

it totally depends on the kind of relationship u hv wid ur family members, but its always better work for others coz there u dont know them personally so even if they say anything tht wont bother u as much as it might if they were ur family members.

working with family is like working beside your lover, too much conflict, I rather work some where with no family or loved ones, but that is me, besides working with family especially them being the boss thats what happens work long hrs for nothing, where if you work some where with the boss not knowing you, then its all fair game my opion!
