Yes, when I flew back east this summer, I had to haul a s s across the Newark airport while I was hearing my name called over the intercom. They had to hold the plane for me and people were PISSED!! Hehe.

Yes, I've been called out over the intercom, but not for being late.

It was right after the 9/11 events and my mom and sister packed my luggage while I was working, so I was not sure about the things I was taking with me. National Guard officials came to walk me to the hangar and speak about the suspicious things in my suitcase. Meanwhile they took my passport, my handbag, everything. The problem: some weird round bags that came out to be my socks folded in a non common way...

When I come back to the gate the other passengers looked at me as if I were the worst terrorist ever caught. I was completely pissed off!

Yes big time.. It was four of us from work away for a convention in Melbourne which turned into a 4 day party. We decided to do some touring and drive to the bottom of Australia. We arrived back at our Motel in Melbourne thinking that we still had plenty of time but had already missed our plane by an hour. We all bought new tickets and couldn't fly out until the following morning, which meant we had another night in that great city.. HOORAY. So, out we go for dinner, drinks, one of us got lucky and went to some girls house so the next morning we were running very late again, frantically trying to find our lost cassanova and all made it to the plane in the very nick of time. We all had to go straight to work when we arrived home and it was the longest day of our lives.

It happened to me twice

Once I was with 2y-o kid on my way from 1 fligh to another, the international airport was big, and transit time between 2 oversea flights was only 30 minutes or so, and the first flight delayed ... So they calles our name for the second one, 10 minutes before departure time, all other passenger were sitting on airplane waiting for us...

Another time, just few months after the previous time, we were traveling oversea all family, and it happened almost the same, all the airplane was waiting for the last passenfers, they called our name and we boarded right at the departure time.

My initial flight was 2 hours late which made me have only 10 minutes to make my connection. Turned out they were waiting half an hour for me to arrive and when I got on the plane and went down the isle one guy said "there's the reason why we are delayed"
=o)

Yes. I was at the sit-down restaurant in the terminal and told my waitress what time my flight was and she said no problem. So we ordered and waited and waited. We got our food right before we were paged. We took it in to-go boxes but couldn't bring it on the plane (and you know how expensive airport food is). Turns out the restaurant ran out of hamburger buns so had to run to their restaurant in another part of the airport to get more. Not happy. Luckily we did make the flight.

I went to the airport to pick up my mother. Had three kids young kids with me, all carrying roses for their grandmother. Got to the gate and mom wasn't there. Looked everywhere and couldn't find her! Heard my name being paged - it was my sister - mom telephoned her and my sister telephoned the airport to have me paged. So I paged my mom - who didn't hear it because she was smoking in the smoking area. Finally I found Visitor Information and blurted out to the guy that I lost my mother. He KNEW who I was talking about!! My sister talked to him, too! He told me my mother was in another terminal. I dragged the kids back to the car and buckled them back in and went to the other terminal. It was July. We are in Texas. :( Searched all over the place and had her paged again - finally she heard the page.
The roses are wilted beyond recognition - some of them the heads fell off while the kids banged them around. I bet we left petals everywhere we went.
It's a lot funnier now than it was then. And now I find the great value in cell phones!!

I travel 100,000+ miles per year and have had it happen tons of times...Being called for an upgrade is one thing, but being called because you're in the queue at McDonalds waiting for a fresh batch of fries to come up is another!!!
