The Saturday before Thanksgiving, I want to drive from Los Angeles to Detroit, Michigan. Does anybody know what's the quickest route from Los Angeles to Detroit or Chicago? Has any yahoo user ever done it before? I'm also accepting answers for driving from L.A. to Chicago because the route is similar.

You pass through Chicago to go to Detroit on I-94, so you may as well do LA to Chicago.

Take I 70 to Denver, I76 to I80 in nebraska , and I80 to CHicagos I94

Well, I drove from very slightly north of Detroit to Salt Lake City and took I-80 most of the way... It gets super boring at about the middle of Wyoming, but that just happens because it gets flatter and flatter the closer to Michigan you get.

I guess I'd recommend taking I-40 to I-25 up to Denver (simply because Denver is pretty cool) and then transfering up to I-80 all the way to Chicago.... Detroit is super easy to get to from there and there are signs all over. If you need good Michigan directions, just message me.

The main highway to Detroit is 94

LA to chicago and vice versa, nothing beats I-80. You can even take 80 right across IL/IN and then exit to--cant think of the highway but it's marked 100 times "To Detroit"--Good luck and wear your seatbelt, kid!
