With the recent escalation in Iraqi violence, most accept the fact that terrorists are trying to influence the elections.
Many groups from other conflicts in the past have staged similar and successful attacks in order to force the replacement of the elected officials of their enemy.
If this is the case, why would you want to vote for who our enemy wants us to vote for? It seems pretty obvious that terrorists see more opportunity with Democrats in office as opposed to Republicans. Any thoughts?

Terrorists, insurgents, whatever - you know, the people who are strapping bombs to themselves and blowing up women and children.

I would love to add to your statement but you have covered it well!
Those that wish to cause problems for us would prefer that a Democrat be in charge. Democrats are complacent!
A fine example was during the Carter administration. Iran held United States citizens hostage while the Carter administration tried to talk. As soon as a Republican took office, the hostages were released.

If the people answering a lot of the questions on this site win on Nov. 7th and the Democrats take control. It is very likely that more Americans will die on American soil at he hands of terrorists that we are now fighting in Iraq. I keep reading how much the left thinks Iraqi's hate us. My ex husband spent a year in Iraq and he never saw that ! Also I see how much the left hates Fox News but the Iraqi contributors tell us clearly that they still need Americas help and want us to stay , they don't hate us! As a matter of fact if we leave Iraq the terrorists will see it as they won the war and America is weak. So yes they do want to influence the vote.

What we have in this country is a lack of highly qualified leaders that are willing to suffer the slings and arrows of being President. But the ones who are willing often are held up to intense scrutiny.
Good or bad all you ever hear is the bad. So who in their right mind would ever run for president. Only people who want to have a prominent place in history. Not necessarily people who have our best interest at heart.
To reverse your question....what republican do you think would get this nation where we want it to go. Not many their either.
There is always a chance that our enemy will do what ever it takes to change our system. It happened at least once before. Jimmy Carter can tell you all about it.
But I like to believe if one man or woman stepped forward with the right answers to all the problems we have we would flock to them regardless of party. There are many people in this country who could do this but they are not or ever will be politicians.

Yup, they sure are.
And, yes, they certainly do prefer Democrats to Republicans.
In fact, if the conspiracy-minded are correct about the voting machines being hacked, it will probably be by Al-Qaeda! Hmm, sounds like a movie script to me (wonder if Ollie Stone would be interested?).

Which terrorists do you mean? Al Qaeda hasn't done squat in a long time. Are you trying to tie the insurgents in Iraq to them? Such a claim needs powerful proof, and I don't see any.

I do not believe that they are trying to influence elections but I do believe that most Americans are going to vote on who they believe is best equipped to handle terrorism.

Kerry, the terrorist, did a good job.
How much did the terrorists pay Kerry to bash American troops?
