U need to see ur doc for this so he/she can drain the fluid. They will also give you anti-inflammatories for this as well. Go easy on your knee until it gets better. Also just to let you know that this can be a reoccurring problem so take it easy

Save yourself the £40 my husband paid an osteopath to be told the following:
Elevate your leg and twice a day massage gradually from the knee down towards your groin when the fluid can then drain away. It can't disperse if it's trapped at knee level.
He didn't need a second appointment as it worked.

Go to the chemist and buy a support bandage and ask for a product called
Intragel. It is a clear gel which you rub into the affected joint, it is only cheap and worked wonders for me when I had that problem. Takes a day or two to work, so sorry it is not what you would call a quick fix. Hope you get better soon.

The quickest treatment is to have the fluid drained by a qualified health care provider. This also helps with the diagnosis as to the cause as the fluid can be analyzed at the lab to determine if it is infectious or inflammatory.

Any kind of heat therapy should help the pain. Rest it as much as possible. try something like deep heat or an anti inflammatory gel like oruvail. I think most pharmacies sell packs now for that kind of thing as well. Try asking and see. I had it years ago and I know how painful it is, so best of luck. Hope it clears up soon.

How did you injur your knee? It is important to know this before any suggestions are made!
Depending upon when you did do this applying heat is not advised as this could make ur injury far worse.
It is advisable to either consult a dr or make an appointment to see a sports rehabilitator or physiotherapist for them to give you CORRECT advice.

Get a knee bandage from superdrug/boots. That will help the pressure and also ibuprofen/nurofen is an anti inflammitory which would help.
