Is it expensive? How long does it last? How old do you have to be to get a GED in Indiana...and so on. Has anyone taken a class like this? Thank you so much.

You do not need a GED if you homeschool through high school. My older daughter joined the U.S. Army without it (There's a congressional thing that says they cannot discriminate against homeschoolers in joining the Armed Forces.) and my younger daughter is a softmore in college. Both were homeschooled all the way through high school. You must have your parents on board. I had to write and notarize letters, stating what we did in homeschooling, etc. My word as their parent and educator is all it took.

To get into college you do have to pass the ACT or SAT, depending on your state and the ASVAB test for the military. So you must actually work to learn as a homeschooler to succeed. But you will succeed if you work at it. It's not a free ride.

Good Luck!

Sue

Homeschooling will make a GED very easy..
You can buy GED prepratory books & tests just about anywhere..
It is absolutely no problem to get your GED after homeschooling.
One of my kids finished public high school and I was so irritated & disappointed in the ecucation that I pulled the other two out and homeschooled them and they got GED's...AND, got much better educations and did not have to sufffer with the low class social exposure from much of the trash that is found in many of todays public schools..
You will have a much better education than if you wasted your time in todays public schools....The only decent schools left are the good upper class private schools...

Hi, I am homeschooled and am taking my pre-GED test today. I will take the actual test sometime next week. I can't tell you how old you have to be in Indiana, but I am a Senior in North Dakota and they are letting me take it.

I.m uncertain on the instant, yet in 1963 I dropped out of highschool, joined the Marine Corps and gained my GED equivalency degree 2 years later mutually as serving in Vietnam. i can't see how they does no longer settle for a GED on the instant to enlist.

Honestly, nobody takes a GED seriously. Also, a lot of people who say they're going to get their GED never do. If I were you I would go back to school.
