I want to be able to sit down at my PC and using my voice with my PC mike to write the music as I am doing this. There is a system some colleges and schools use, but I don't remember the brand or company name. I once had such on a friend's Pc. but no longer have access to that PC. It also allows you to add any type of Instrumentation you want to. It like having your own recording studio on your computer. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Thanks ronnier

inquisitive suggested P2P, and i HIGHLY disagree with this for finding your software. The results you will find on P2P software will almost always be pirated software.

That said, the king of all music notation software is Finale. You can learn more about this software at http://www.finalemusic.com/

Note: the full blown version of Finale can be pricey, but there is a free version of the software availble on the website called Finale Notepad. This is an awesome piece of software!
