Istanbul (Turkey's most populous city, and its cultural and economic center) sits astride two continents. Europe and Asia. Several references say it is the only city in the world to have that distinction.

I don't know if it's possible for a town to sit on two continents because countries are bordered with a lot of empty land or a gorge or wilderness let alone continents. If it is, it should be in Russia, the Eurosia region.

Istanbul markets itself as the city on two continents (Europe and Asia). You could also include Panama (as mentioned above) - North and South America, and Suez and Port Said (Africa and Asia).

Calling Europe and Asia separate continents is a pretty far reach. If you look at a map, they're so joined it's impossible to tell where one begins and the other ends, hence the name "Eurasia."
Maybe Panama would be a better choice.
