Well. You shouldn't. Especially if these people join the army just because they are not capable of doing anything else.
I don't try to underestimate the army, I even respect the people who join a lot, as long as their motives are right.
But I would never accept what they say, just because they say it, especially political opinions, because every country misinforms the army about many situations and facts.
I believe that people should discuss and accept each others opinions and nobody who ever he is, or whatever he does for a living, should try to enforce their opinions to others.

No, joining the military does not make one above reproach, nor does it mean someone "knows it all."
However, when speaking of military matters, deference should be given to veterans. Those with experience should be given respect over those without. That does not mean that the veteran is always right in any debate over military matters, merely that their opinion deserves extra respect and consideration.
In most other matters, the opinion of a veteran should be considered with the same respect as anyone else's opinion.
In the same way, being the mother of a dead soldier, or the wife of a man killed by terrorists or criminals, or a Vietnam veteran, does not make one above reproach. But those people still deserve extra consideration when their experiences touch upon whatever they are speaking about.

Military men and women are putting their lives on the line every day. Does that mean they know it all, no? But they are bettering their lives, training for a job, getting a education, and learning to fight.
Many look to them in high regard, why? What other job do you risk everything even your life, work 24/7 many days per month with no time off, low wages, less than desirable living conditions, your life is tied to the government, your boss is the President (like him or not), and the divorce rate is higher than any other career.
Does this sound great to you? No, but these men and women serve us and protect our freedoms and keep us safe. Without them there would be no AMERICA.

Your question is very presumptious and I take it you are a liberal. So no, military members don't believe we are above reproach. The military holds service members to a higher legal standard than civilians by use of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Yes people do leave small towns as I did to garner the benefits. Additionally, we are immersed in a pro diversity environment unlike any in the civilian world, are afforded some of the best educational opportunities and taught to lead by use of ethical decision making processes. No civilian entity would place a 22 year old female from the Bronx in charge of a diverse group of soldiers in combat as an example, yet the military does it all of the time. We are not above reproach; if anything our self adherance to a higher standard forces us to be more critical of our behavior and monitor our responses to civilians so we are in adherance to the UCMJ.
If there is any group that professes not to know it all it is the military. Our training teaches us that no one can do it all, that a team can best accomplish any goal and the collective knowledge of the team is superior to individual knowledge. This is a diametrically opposed position to most elitest liberals who feel their view is superior to others and must be implemented to protect us against our own stupidity.
Be careful in your critiques of others. You may actually learn something that exposes the flaws in your judgement.

You do not enjoy the same rights as someone who is a civilian & while certain things are provided for you I'd never make the claim your life is secure. You life is anything but secure when you join the military.

Since you would never be brave enough to join the military and defend the right to spew retarded things on yahoo answers and call out people who have strong opinions because they see conflict first hand, maybe you should just shut up. Take the stupid feather out of your hat and respect what they have to say you are a donkey hee haw.

Military service today is a far cry from the past. Draft dismantled lives and families out of demand. Enlisted is a choice no difference than a car salesperson, banker, lawyer, truck driver, fireman. It's a choice. If you don't like it you don't have to participate so no sympathy here!
