I´ve got the latest model Seat Ibiza(04 plate), 1.2 engine. Since I´ve had the car I´ve had no trouble with it at all, touch wood, but say three times over the past couple of years the air conditioning has failed to work. Instead of pumping out cold air, it produces HOT air. At first I thought it was a one off, or that I hadn´t switched it on properly, but the other day the same thing happened. As I say, it´s only happened on very few occasions, but does anyone know why this happens? Is it normal for aircon not to work on the odd occasion?

go have it checked out. If its not working you probably dont have any freon in your system. you might have leak.

Most transport airplanes have air cycle air conditioning packs - Some airplanes have freon (R12) air conditioning units - The passenger 747 has 3 air cycles packs of which 2 are normally used during cruise to cool off and supply air to the pressurized area - Many cargo 747 only have 2 air cycle packs (the third pack is often suppressed in converted passenger airplanes) - The bleed air required to operate the packs comes either from the APU (on ground) or from the engines (during cruise) - Bleed air taken from engines during takeoff reduces the thrust available from the engines, so you might hear about "no pack takeoff" in which the air conditioning is not used during the takeoff and initial climb - This is done when extra power is required - On the 747, the APU can be used for bleed air to the air conditioning packs during takeoff, so it does not reduce engine power - Heavy passenger loads - i.e. 500 passengers on board of a 747 - have high requirement for cooling (despite outside cold air) - since each human body heats up the cabin air with the equivalent heat of a 100 watt lightbulb - All DC-8 airplanes have two freon air conditioning packs - On the 707 the two packs were either freon packs or air cycle packs (option by customer airline) - All 727 and later Boeing airplanes have air cycle packs - Air conditioning on small business jets (Learjet) a freon unit is used - .

Don,t panic, the air con needs re charging. It is fluid that makes it work, two years is about right. Will cost about £30-£50 to get it recharged. Look in Yellow pages, there are mobile persons who come to your house and do the job while you lie in bed. Don't forget to run the air con even when it is cold to keep the motor from seizing,

Ac compressor is probably working intermittently. When it stops blowing cold see it the compressor clutch is engaging. If it's working intermittently get the freon checked. it may be low. Or somewhere in the system there maybe a restriction.....Like the orifice tube may need a new filter in it

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/hStSd
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
