I really hate it when politicians and the religious influence science, when they have no clue what they're talking about.

Hate it if you like, but many politicians and many speakers for the various religions have a pretty GOOD handle on the subject. Most have Master's degrees and PhD's, while many voters have no more than a high school education, if even that.

However, most politicians are degreed in LAW, not MEDICINE and MEDICAL ETHICS, and of course politicians are driven by their own parties and the need to win election for their livelihood, so statements by speakers for the major faiths should be more seriously considered. Many of these are Doctors of Theology and/or Medical Doctors and Nurses, practicing in faith-based and other hospitals.

It must be made clear (which you fail to do) the VAST difference between EMBRYONIC stem cell research and ADULT stem cell research. Both are legal and currently practiced, but Adult stem cell research, which has the full acceptance of all major faiths, is proven effective and is far ahead of Embryonic stem cell research. Adult stem cell research employs unbilical cord blood, bone marrow, and recently even skin and fat, which can be obtained from living or deceased donors.

Adult stem cells have provided 72 thearpys and cures so far.
Embryonic stem cells have provided 0 and have only produced tumors so far.
That is why the money from industry is going into Adult and Core blood research. Only in politics does Embroyic stem cell show promise.

Thats not religion that`s science.

I really hate it when people act like they know something but really have no clue. People who have not truly researched a topic should not comment on it. People who have not lived enough to have any experience or to form true life values need to keep their mouths shut until they research all sides of a topic not just the side that confirms their personal bias. Gain a through understanding of a subject so you know both sides of the issue before you make a comment on weather one side should comment or try to influence anything.

Democrats and liberal Republicans. They need to be pro-choice as well as pro-science (as opposed to bible-belt origin). Right now, stem cell research is continuing. The problem is that it needs more funding. We can't get much done with the limited money the government gives to its institutions and the private organizations. Stem cell research could expand dramatically, and we could cure so many diseases, if the scientists just had more funding for their research. I would suggest voting for the independents. The problem is that the Democrats will let the illegals stay.

Stem cell research is only a small part of the larger issue, which is the willingness of one political party to sacrifice scientific advances in response to the outcries of a vocal but clueless minority.

THAT is not responsibility; that is pandering.

My vote is because I've seen alot of sick & suffering people.
Also, because I believe stopping it, is keeping us from the
future. Biological science is a beautiful thing.

If they are throwing them away anyway, why can't they be used to help people.
Once again the religions get involved.
