Or a criticism of the Bush Administrations policy?

2006-11-01 03:54:39 · 32 answers · asked by a kinder, gentler me 7 in News & Events Current Events

I find it completely ridiculous that ANYONE could interpret his remark as a slam against Americas enlisted.

Bush has innocent kids risking and giving their lives in an invasion of a foriegn country with the sole purpose of making him and his elitist buddies even more rich than they are. He Bush, his friends, and his ignorant supporters sleep at night is beyond me.

And to try and deflect the bad press and forthcoming loss of control they are faced with by misinterpreting a slam against their policy?!

Six more days...

He could have been talking about GW and saying that GW did not study hard or make good enough grades so he was too dumb to keep from getting the US stuck in Iraq. Kerry sure stepped in it, though, didn't he. What a gift to the right at this important time just before the mid term elections. I think it is hilarious fun to watch.

Kerry was and still is bashing our troops. As for his time in the Veitnam war, that was a joke. Read the books with comments upon comments from those that fought with him. Even if this is something that Kerry didn't mean, then he should have corrected his "mistake" right away instead of waiting days afterwards, after there was a big out cry. His apoligey is just a little to late, the damage has been done. Our troops have heard the comment and I'm sure are just overjoyed by the support that Kerry has shown.

I think it was a foot in mouth- but so obviously stupidly said that he should have corrected himself on the spot, but didn't and at this point should apologize- I would see him as a much better person if he had the nads to do so-also Bush bashing. So sick of it. Say something about a specific thing or shut up. The world is hard right now and all the inner fighting in our politics just makes us look like idiots to the rest of the world....

criticism of the war, not the troops. People know this but are ignoring common sense so they can push their own political agendas.

Kerry would not bash the troops because he fought in the Vietnam war. Why would he do that?

People know the truth. They're just scared to go against those who hold the cards. Fortunately, there will be a change soon.

Kerry has a history of bashing our troops-even when he was one he consorted with the enemy .John Kerry's photo is part of an exhibit honoring heroes who helped the Vietnamese Communist win the war against the U.S. ; and is displayed in the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City . . This was not about the President . Kerry & the liberal "elete" look down on the military .Clinton dismantled as much as he could get away with-thus the Somalia debacle . Kerry is still fighting the Viet Nam war . Back then he went over to the side of the enemy ; trashed his own men & caused torture to P.O.W.s already in enemy hands . Those who knew him best :
his fellow Swift Boat vets , cringed when Kerry ran for Pres. and told their story in a book called :" Unfit for Command". Kerry is still unfit -and should not be representing America anywhere-since he does nothing but show contempt for it . Kerry thought we were too stupid to "catch on" ; and now thinks he can change the scenario into a rant on the White House . He knows he called our military stupid . We know it . They know it . Democrats know it .

No they were not. This close to the election day the republicans would say anything against the democrates. He simply made a bad choice of words, and what he said was taken out of context. I didn't see it as cutting down anyone.

Yes I do. Our troops are fighting so hard and even if we do not agree with the war, we should support these soliders. I do not think he is smart at all. The only reason he has gotten as far as he has, is because of his wife's money and power. I think we the American people would become a laughing embarrassment to all people around the world if we elected him as President. I think that the people of his state should really think before they elect him to another office. John Kerry go home and just live off your wife's fortune.

It's amusing to see the Kerry apologists frantically scrambling to try to spin what he said. Now, I'm no Bush fan, but like it or not, Kerry took a shot at the troops. He clearly and directly made the statement that only uneducated people would serve in the military today. You can try to explain it away, or interpret it all you want, but the fact is, he said what he said.

I think he was trying to slam Bush, and came out the wrong way. Too bad for him though, a lot of people aren't thinking that way.
