try drinking lots of orange juice. since it has vitamin C it kills the cold virus. drink chicken soups. Ginger tea also helps.
for stuffy nose try putting a few drops of saline water & then blow out, this helps to relieve the nasal congestions.
these are some home remedies.
u can try the tylenol cold complete. that helped me.
for ur baby its bcoz of ur cold that she is getting infected. so try to get rid of ur cold as soon as possible. but some tips for her:
No medicine will make a virus go away faster, but you can help your child feel better and prevent the infection from getting worse by making sure he gets plenty of rest and liquids. You may want to try to teach your child to blow his nose. Some preschoolers can learn this task, but others just aren't ready until about school age. Here are a few other ways to help ease his congestion:
• Use a humidifier or a cool-mist vaporizer to moisten the air in his room. Or take your preschooler into the bathroom with you, turn on the hot water, close the door, and sit in the steamy room for about 15 minutes. A warm bath can accomplish the same thing.
• Elevate the head of your child's mattress by placing a couple of towels between the head of the mattress and the crib springs or box springs. Sleeping at a slight incline may help relieve his postnasal drip, but don't overdo it. If your child is a restless sleeper, he could end up flipping around so his feet are higher than his head, defeating the purpose of the elevation.
Hope this helps.

A cold should run it's course in about 9 to 11 days. Either you are re- infecting one another or you both have some allergies. Wash hands a lot especially when the face or any contaminated material has been touched (cold water because warm water washes dry the skin).
Hydrate yourselves. Get rest. Chicken soup or if you know how -- make jook or rice gruel (Chinese dish).

Try Allium Cepa 30, a homeopathic remedy. Take it 4 times a day at an interval of 4 hrs. and for a week only. Do not take any qualified drink or any food one hour before and after the dose.

I know this sounds kinda nasty but to me the best way to get rid of a cold would be to take some form of laxative. It always works (wonder why)
For the baby Tylenol for children work the best.
Good luck.

drink orange juice like its water and will break up the conjestion. mostly just eat things that make you happy -- i like vidalia onion soup with beef stock and sherry or port in it.
chocolate and or caffiene should get rid of the headache temporarily. use semi-sweet bakers chocolate not milk chocolate -- the milk solids are bad for sick people and will re-congest you. mostly stop stressing being sick -- it just makes it worse!
