Miscegenation (Latin miscere "to mix" + genus "kind") is the mixing of different ethnicities or races, especially in marriage, cohabitation, or sexual relations.
"Miscegenation" comes from the Latin miscere, "to mix" and genus, "race". While the etymology of the term is not pejorative, historically, "race mixing" between black and white people was widely taboo, and, in much of the U. S., was even illegal when the term was introduced in this country in 1863.
I am sure that these prejudices stem from what people have learned from their parents or those close to them. Through the years of time, people have been drawn to one another despite the hatred that has been passed on from one generation to another. Even though that couple may be in heavenly bliss, those around them that do not "approve" will voice their unhappiness at that union even if it is none of their business. It is the small minded individual who feels compelled to keep people from doing what they want to do no matter the person's ethnic background.
What these people do not realize is that there will be a time (and it is coming closer than they think) when people will no longer make "color" a barrier.

I agree with you. I think a lot of people think that they are better than others and that is why they get so pushed out of shape about interracial relationships. I think that they don't want their color mixing with anothers. It is stupid. God made us these colors but we are all the same inside and we will all share heaven together. I think it is the devil who cause this attitude. I do have to say this. I married a guy of a different nationality and it is hard sometimes because after we got married he started telling my daughter that she was his nationality. I was like Hello what a I? She is half of what I am too and some times it is hard on my daughter because she has had a hard time trying to find out who she is because people are mean. She is beautiful. She is half white and half mexican. She didn't really fit in with either. So it is hard on the kids when we fall in love with someone of a different culture. Hope this was a little bit of help to you.

i don't have a topic with interracial relationships, my merely venture with them is that if an interracial couple has infants. the subject is this, the toddler, quite no count if that's a black/white couple, will tutor characteristics from the two races and at present, young infants like that have a tendency to get teased and pronounced as names by using fact of it. that's unfair to punish the toddler by using fact of who his dad and mom are, yet today, it does take place. optimistically, interior the destiny, this might substitute and it will no longer be a controversy.

u kno thas a tough question.... ive been through many interratial relationships and the main ones that do not approve are the parents. i guess they were brought up that way and this is what they belive. but i think this generation of kids are more open minded and starting to change the ways of thier parents.
it is sad though when u go out with ur g/f and all u get r stares from the elderly and other ppl... but i guess i have kinda go used to it.

Ignorance and prejudice, some folks are so miserable with their own lives and have nothing better to do but criticize and find fault with anything and everything that they possibly can. Look at it like this, must really suck to me them with such an outlook on life. I would imagine being miserable and hateful is not fun at all. God bless

Thank you! It's the same thing that shapes their meddling opinions about everyone that does not agree with them.....It's all about putting their own fears and insecurities onto others when it's none of their business.
