so i bought a papermate clickster mechanical pencil that says 0.7mm

HB 2.

is this the right pencil that i need??????

Yes, you can use it... the HB 2 is the key.... that is telling you the hardness of the graphite and a #2 = HB2.

Yes, the lead is exactly the same. The only difference is a plastic housing vs. wooden housing for the lead. Mechanical pencil lead packs even say #2 on them so you know they will register. They're actually better to use on tests in my opinion, because if the lead breaks you just click for more, whereas if the lead breaks on a regular pencil you have to stop your exam and get up to sharpen it. That wastes time and if it's a timed exam, that's not cool.

Sure .... if it is a "2" it will work. Sometimes though, it is easier to fill in little bubbles with a wooden pencil. I would take 3 or 4, sharpened and ready. Also, take a good rubber eraser so that if you make a mistake, you can erase completely.
