Do you believe that the No Smoking in Restraunts Law was a good thing? One of my friends said that he thought it wasn't. He voted to keep smokers in restraunts, but he's not a smoker. He says if the ventalation is right in the restraunt, then the smoke won't affect others. I don't think so. I think that no matter what the ventalation is, others will still breathe in second hand smoke. I mean, come on! Having a smoking section in a restraunt is like having a peeing section in a pool... Says in stupid voice *if the filter is placed in the right place and the water circulates correctly, then it's ok, go ahead and pee in the pool...* whatever. I think the law was a good thing, what do you think?

I kind of agree with musiclover's answer. Maybe if they had a different room for the smokers... In my state, before the law was passed, splitting the restaurant up, consisted of a 4 ft. high wall in the middle of the room and smokers on one side, non-smokers on the other. Hello??? The smoke still comes over to our side. So maybe a completely different room would be a good thing... Hmmm....

I completely agree because smoking is very bad for you. Its not as if they are taking away your rights. When you go out to eat you want to enjoy your dinner and not have to smell the smoking cigarette.

Even when I was a smoker, I liked it. Keeps people from dwelling too long after they eat. So I can get in and eat sooner.
Now that I'm a non-smoker, I wish they would move the smoking further from the door. Like their vehicle or something. Sucks having to walk through it to go inside.
As for Bars, I mean bars, bars. That do not predominately serve food or clubs. I think they should have a smoking section, but with great ventilation.

I think it's way past time to stop picking at the smokers. Especially if you drive a vehicle with an internal combustion engine which belches out far more carcinogens over time than any smoker will ever do.
Something about not throwing stones since most of us live in glass houses one way or another springs to mind.
And no, I don't smoke. I just hate to see smokers turned in to some kind of social pariahs by a bunch of prissy and excessively discriminative hypocrites.
How can it be right to ***** about smokers when all of us, directly or otherwise, play our parts in polluting the world?
Why, It makes me want to stamp my little feet and throw a tantrum, so it does...

I disagree, I think it should be up to the owner of the restaurant if he wants it to be smoking or non smoking. If you don't like it then don't go into the restaurant. I agree with the ventalation part because I am sure it would be very irritating, but I think we are going a little too far with the pc crap

Well, I can understand you, that you don't like smoke when you're not smoking yourself. I don't like people smoking in my face either, when I'm eating. Even though I'm a smoker myself. But if you sit outside and smoke, it's OK and maybe the Bars, Discos and restaurants should have a smoking room, so everybody's happy!

I think the law is a great thing...I'm not a smoker but a lot of my friends are. I don't care if they smoke, but I don't want to inhale smoke while I'm trying to enjoy my dinner! By the way, nice earrings!

I agree. I hate the smell of smoke in a restaurant or any other place. My husband has smoked all of his life, and we have been married for 26 years and he will never quit. He believes he has rights, and I tell him "you do not have the right to kill another person from your second hand smoke"

I'm in Ireland and there's a smoking ban in public indoor places. its brilliant-I'm not a smoker and I was sick of going to clubs and coming out reeking of smoke. I dont think your friend's ventalation thing would work...

I think the law had a good point in stopping smoking in restaurant cause it is not only adults that are taking in the smoke it is also the children.

I agree with the law, it helped me to quit smoking! It's been over 23 months now!! Why is it such a big deal! If you can't go a couple of hours with out a smoke then you need to seriously look at your bad habit!
