Not Necessarily...Starting in January I was only getting my period every other month (ie...Jan, Mar, May, July...) and in september when i didn't get my period I was getting concerned and made an appt w/ my obgyn... well by October 16 (still having no period) My Doc told me I was Pregnant!!! My Hubby and I had also been trying to concieve for over a year and a half... I was thinking the same as you ...* oh no this (irregular period) will kill the slim chances I had of getting pregnant* but here I am 16 Weeks along with a Happy and Healthy Pregnancy

Don't get your spirits down... anything can happen... and usually does in it's own time!

Hope this all Helps or at least makes you feel a little better
Good Luck!!
Heather

No, I've actually talked to my ob-gyn about this (because I have the most irregular on the planet), and it's just the way the body is. You should try to see when you're ovulating, and then, well, try hard during that time. You can type "ovulation calculator" into any search engine, and a million will pop up. You just type in the first day of your last period, and it will tell you when you're most fertile.Good luck.

Irregular periods do not mean that you are infertile. I have irregular periods and I have a six year old child and I think one on the way. Irregular periods do make it harder to time when you ovulate though. You may have to pay extra special attention to your body to know when you ovulate. Good luck!

No, I had irregular periods and now I am a mother of three. I know this sounds funny but you may have to go on the pill to get it regulated first. Then you can try for a baby.
Good luck!

I also have irregular periods. And I am in the same situation trying to conceive but no luck yet : (
First try to determine your ovulation date. I used the Clearblue fertile monitor. It is expensive around $150.00. But I heard really good reviews about this. I use the monitor and it helped me find out my ovulation date. I have just used this monitor for one month's cycle and it determine my ovulation date.

Definitely not. I have irregular ones, and am the mother of a 3.5 month old little boy.

The only thing i ever knew of that helped irregular periods become regular was birth control...and that definitely wouldnt help you with what you are wanting to do.

No it doesn't mean that look at your diet and if you want to get pregnant then stop stressing this can cause problems also. Relax have sex and keep your legs up after intercourse it helps move the tad poles down the channel lol good luck eat lots of veggies also.

Not necessarily. However, it can make it more difficult to predict when you will ovulate. I would suggest that you look into charting your cycles using a BBT thermometer or using an ovulation predictor kit to determine if and when you are ovulating. If you are not ovulating, you will need to talk to your doctor for their recommendations on how to help you conceive.

this could be indicative that you're not ovulating properly. in order for you to be sure (if u don't want to go to the dr.'s first), you should get an ovulation predictor kit (pharmacy) and test to see if you have an LH surge (indicated u should ovulate very soon). anyway, i hope this helps.
