He knew going to Arizona that the Cardinals suck year in and year out. For him it was all about the money and making a name for himself. The Colts had already shelled out all the money they could to him without going over the cap. In fact, Manning and Harrison last year took pay reductions to get him to stay.

I think he thought that with him being a big name and going to a bad team that he would be a really big name there kind of like Barry Sanders was in Detroit. However I don't think he really thought about the fact that Arizona doesn't have a good offensive line like the Colts do. You need that offensive line to open holes for a runningback to make good yardage. He doesn't have that now and that's why his stats suck.

Edgerrin knew that he was nearing the end of his career as far as being able to get good yardage. In another year or two the Colts would have replaced him with someone better. For as much as the Colts were paying him, he really wasn't making enough yards per carry to ask for that kind of sum. The Colts had other players such as Reggie Wayne that were more important to keep. And with a strong class of running backs in the draft it didn't make the Colts decision very hard.

What's sad for him is if he had stuck it out another year he might have been able to win a Superbowl with the Colts. After you win a ring, you can ask for a much higher salary.

I really like Addai. He is already starting to average more yards per carry than Edge and he is a little more of a team player. Edge would rarely to never attend preseason camp. Although he would train down in Florida on his own. Addai is there for every practice, asking questions all the time and doing his best to become better. Both Addai and Vinateiri are team players and are going to make great additions to the Colts.

About as hard as Cowher on his decision to start Big Ben last Sunday. With the O' line that the Cards has, Edge will no way no how, get over 1000 yards rushing for the season. He made the move for money, which now he's really going to have to earn that paycheck. He went to a team that is still stuck in transition(been that way for years) and still trying to rebuild. This guy broke Pro Bowl records as a ROOKIE, but now he's barely gaining 2 or 3 yards a carry. If it was about the money, then he could've held out on his contract at the start of this season until he got something better or negotiated with is teammates(the Colts at the time) to see if there was a way to keep him here.
..but hey, Joseph Addai is looking pretty good!

i don't think he his kicking himself that hard because he knew this team wasn't good and he only came here because he needed to prove to himself how good he really was. I think he will be alright in the long run but their o-line sucks ***.

Hard, very hard. It's really a damn shame for him to sign with such a promising team and then for the team to turn into total crap. It's really too bad for EJ.
