I was just wondering, I had applied for a job and got the call today that I was hired. When she called she said "You're background check was clear which makes you hired!!"
Now I ask this because like 5 months ago, I got pulled over for running a stop sign which I dont think I did. So my court appearance was on a date during which i was in the bahamas, so i couldnt go. The court found me guilty. I called the court and they told me to pay 250.00 and i will be ok. what do this mean? i thought i would have a warrant, and i thought my license would be suspended, but i guess not. Please bare with me, I'm a little confused to what is going on.SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE.

If you paid your fine, then yes, you should not have any problems. All you did was contest the ticket, which is just a traffic violation. By not showing up, you forfeitted your right to contest the ticket, so you just have to pay the fine.

But if you didn't....well, then a warrant could show up for your arrest. Hope this helps ya!

well, if they found you guilty, you should be ok. they usually, depending on the state laws, dont issue warrants for a civil citation, which is what you got for the stop sign violation. Just pay the money, and check with the clerks office to make sure. Good luck!!

you probably do have a warrant. you should have just filed for a change in court date to begin with. the background check probably didn't look at your warrants. pay the fine and the warrant should go away. if its something small like that they won't bother coming to look for you but they have to arrest you if you get pulled over for anything. so get that taken care of asap.

For a traffic violation, it's highly doubtful that it would show on your background check.

For a Drunk Driving arrest with an accident where someone died (vehicular manslaughter), yeah, that's gonna be on your background check.

They check credit, and criminal convictions.

Most misdemeanors and traffic citations are not on your background check.

as long as the money is paid, you will have no outstanding warrents.... and if they ran a background check on you, then yes it would have shown up they were "looking for you". So as long as you are paying or have paid they have no need for you. Now if you dont pay anything you will be getting a friendly knock on your door.

WOW, IF YOU ONLY WOULD HAVE BEEN RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO PAY THE TICKET IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU WOULDN'T HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM.
