will the remote that comes with it work/control gameplay the same way with the old games as it would if i was to buy a new Wii game? Or would it just be regular gameplay - and use the traditional controler. Thanks folks!

The ability to interpret the movements of the Wii controller is a function of the machine AND the software.

As Gamecube games were designed without the Wii controller in mind the motion sensing capabilities of the controller will not be used.

Here is a photo of the Wii Gamecube contoller

And the ports it plugs into:

The Classic controller listed above is not for use while playing Nintendo Gamecube software. It is designed to work with Virtual Console titles. For playing Gamecube games, simply connect a Gamecube controller to the Wii via the ports under the top flap.

It has ports for the old style controllers that you can buy new. I also believe there are ports for your old ones too. The Wii controllers won't work with the older games. Go to the Nintendo Wii page and all the options are there.

It really depends on why you are pre-ordering. If you are doing it for the bonuses then you should probably drop the COD pre-order. Gamestop seems to be only offering a COD black ops 2 gun, and a poster or something like that, nothing in-game with COD Ghosts. As far as what to preorder instead, that's a choice of your own based on your preferences.

nope because the games have different technology! and if it did...there wouldn't be a reason to come out with a whole new system instead of just new controllers...so it is backwards compatible but the sensors don't work!

No but there's another gamepad that's similar to its predecessor.
