A total of 21 black men and 13 women participated in the 2000 Olympics. This is a far cry from the 1972 games, which had only 1 entry, Geoff Ferreira of Trinidad.
Eric Moussambani of Equatorial Guinea swam alone, in a 100-meter freestyle heat in 1:52.72
Anthony Ervin of the US He is the second black swimmer to win gold after Nesty of Surinam. Ervin's medal is the 6th of 7 won by black swimmers over the years (2 by Nesty, 2 by Brighitta, 1 by Bent, 1 by Ervin, 1 by Huegill).
Edvaldo Silva of Brazil swam a 49.26 second-leg for the 100 free
Damien Alleyne of Barbados placed 26th in the 400 free
Leah Martindale was 24th with a nice 57.21 for the 100-meter free.
Jiobhan Cropper of Trinidad,Mike Fung-A-Wing of Surinam,Chris Murray of the Bahamas , From Cuba we have Gunter Rodriguez,Janelle Atkinson of Jamaica is potentially a future swimming star,Jean-Luc Razakarivoni of Madagascar,Leonard Ngoma of Zambia,Clara Bakale of the Congo,Bakary Sereme of Mali (west of Niger),Balkissa Ouhoumoudou of Niger, Xenia Peni of Papua-New Guinea, and from Australia itself is Geoff Huegill, second after the 100-meter butterfly preliminaries, then first after the semi-final. He won a bronze medal in the final.

Offcourse although im not black it dont mean im giving you tha wrong advise but here it goes: u should go 4 yo dreams if u wanna be a swimmer well then so be a swimmer it dont matter if ur tha nline black persont in tha swimmin team but wut really mattas is that u wanna go wit yo dream so0 just think bout it okk

easter williams was famous for her style of swimming , look it up on the net , she played in movies , really interesting, back in the 30's
