Anyone with experience please help. I am not used to wearing much make-up and just got a new job in a professional atmosphere. I think I have medium skin tone or maybe what they call autum? I have brown hair and brown eyes. I do tan and rarely burn but also have some freckles on my face. I think I am somewhat golden when I tan..my sister says I am light olive. Is there such a thing as light olive? Oh, I am just really confused because alot of the colors are too light, but some are too dark. Anyone else have this issue? What brands do you use? .Any input is appreciated. Thanks!! Make-up inept. K

You sound darned close to me....all but the freckles. I wear bare escentuals 2.3 foundation with bare radience all over face color and I absolutely adore thistle blush. I do use a lot of neutral to warm browns on my eyes--

BE can get fairly expensive tho. I would get the try me kit in med, and order the thistle blush, twig eyeliner and maybe faux fox for the lid. I generally like a nude or natural lip--but I always try to match my lip with my blush. What is great about minerals is that you can use your blush for a lip color. I just dip my lip balm in the thistle pot--and a perfect blush/lip match.

Good luck!

If you are a latina, or you have that typical golden-olive skin tone, the best colors for you to wear would be greens and golds. When you choose your greens, stay away from the bright kellys, but stick more so with khaki colored greens, like olive and avocado. Don't put it on heavy, just put it on the crease of your eyelid, and get an iridescent (like a pearly color...) shadow to semi-line your brows.

You can always go to the mall and go to the makeup counter to learn what other colors suit you best and how to wear your makeup for a professional setting. MAC and Prescriptives artists usually do the best...try to steer clear of places like Dior who are more flashy with their colors and have makeup for a glam night out.

Best of luck with your endeavors!
