YES I have a tough time raising pumpkins in the garden. Squirrels, chipmunks ,mice ,and deer love them. not to mention birds after the squirrels tear them up,moles slugs ants any critter.

Yes, our squirrels love it. What's fun is setting out a whole pumpkin with the top cut out.....the squirrels jump inside and pop up with their front paws full and stay there eating it, then go back for more. It's really cute to watch.

Pumpkins aren't really the favorite food of animals. Else they would eat them while they were growing. It wouldn't hurt and maybe a starving animal would eat them but I think you are just making a mess you will have to clean up.
