Knowledge has nothing to do with personal happiness, it can only come from within. You can be dumb, smart, poor or rich and still be happy. Whatever the case, if you're not happy with your situation (E.g. Poor and jealous of those who are rich, but doing nothing about it), you will not attain personal happiness.

It doesn't mean should should stop learning, that will benefit your career and "external" happiness and overall sucess in the World. However, you have to remember - Sucess does not always mean happiness either...

Yes, to a certain extent it does.

An example of this (though too pragmatic) is the knowledge gained through education or professional training. It usually leads to a better career and more money. This in some extent will increase one's personal happiness. One who has toiled hard and learn usually reaps some benefits that give him more happiness !

Another arguement :
If in the world we don't see a link between learning and happiness then the entire education system and the processes and infrastructure for learning will just collapse.

But that has never happened in the last thousands of years of human history.

There is a point to the old adage that ignorance is bliss.
The more ignorant a person is the more s/he is sure of his/her knowledge.

I believe that the more a person knows, the more s/he realizes that s/he doesn't know. And that there is so much that we don't even know that we don't know.

This is not a source of happiness. It is a source of frustration. No one will ever have the full knowledge of the Universe. The best idea, I believe, is considering this concept of full knowledge like the TAO. In Eastern culture, it is believed that we can come close to knowing the Tao, but we, as extant creatures will never fully know it.

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to keep on learning and become at ease with the fact that we will never reach our goal.

To stop learning is not only foolish, but stupid. Life is a learning experience forever, but knowledge never touches personal happiness whatsoever.

Knowledge alone can't do anything. Learn to use it and you're onto something.
