I know that scrapyards pay for old cars, but I don't know the process to sell it to one -- like signing over the title, etc. I just don't want to give it to some auto shop to do it for me "for free," while they pocket the $$$. I want the $$$ for myself!

Import Steel is sh*t. America has bigger manufactures and assets, however the factor is cash. We like matters inexpensive, that is why individuals do not care in the event that they have got to purchase a brand new vehicle each and every 10yrs on account that their chassis rot out. I've a 1965 CJ5, sat for 15yrs, went external with a screwdriver, battery, and a gasoline can, and began inside 10minutes. Leave a gasoline injected Honda sitting for 5yrs and you are going to wish plenty of labor performed. -I venture you to head get a damaged (do not chance breaking a flawlessly well one) forged iron pan from the Fifties-Nineteen Seventies. Go purchase a $10-20 Chinese Cast Iron pan from anywhere. I gurantee you when you whack each as rough as you'll, the American one wont holiday practically as convenient because the Chinese one. I guess you would use the American one as a hammer, whilst the chinese language one you would use as a paperweight

Call a salvage yard and see if they are interested. If so negotiate a price including having them transport the car. They won't take it unless you have the title of ownership.

Most junkyards will give you about $100 for a car. Just look them up in the phone book, call them and they will come and tow it away for you. You must have the title.

Call a junk yard. They'll make you an offer and pick it up.
Don't expect more than about $50.
