I know you can sort a list of duplicate songs in iTunes but how can i delete the duplicate copies quickly? I have about 5000 duplicates and don't really want to delete them one by one!

You'll still have to select them one by one, but if you Control-Click (or Command-Click, on Macs) you can select a big batch of songs before you hit "delete," instead of having to go through the "you sure you want to delete" and "move the file to trash" dialogs each time you delete a song. It's tedious, but it at least gives you a chance to not lose a duplicate that's not really a duplicate (I have multiple, different versions of a song by the same artist, for example), or to choose to save the best version of a set of duplicate files (e.g. the same song downloaded from different sources with differing bitrates and qualities).

go to view it is next to controls at the very top of itunes. Once u click view, their is an option to show duplciate songs. Once it shows u duplicate songs just go to edit at the very top of itunes and go to select all. then just delete them. Happened to me once.

Cleanup you computer from duplicates songs:

Once you are done remove all items from iTunes and add them back.
You will save gigabytes of disk space.
