She sleeps 4-6 hours a night. It would be nice if she would sleep 8 hours.

Actually, if you are only waking up once through the night to feed her, that is doing really good.

My 5 month old son goes down for the night around 10:30 or 11:30 p.m. The last bottle is usually around 10:30 p.m.

He wakes up around 5:30 or 6 a.m.

The key is to feed him some cereal in his bottle as the last feeding before going down for the night, that way his tummy is full and he won't wake up because he's hungry a few hours later.

A 6-hour stretch is really good for a 5 month old.

You need to have a steady schedule that you follow every day. This is my 2 year olds schedule and it has been since birth and i've never had any problems with his sleep pattern or anything yet. 7:00am he wakes up
7:30 he eats breakfast
8:00 he brushes his teeth
8:00-9:00 he plays around, I read to him
9:00-10:00 he watches barny, baby einstein
10:00am he eats a snack and drinks milk or water
10:30-1:30 he takes a nap
1:30 he eats luch
2:00 brushes teeth
2:00-6:00pm he plays with his 4 brothers
6:00pm he eats dinner
6:30-7:30 he plays more
7:30 bath time with the johnsons lavender and mild bath
8:00 brush teeth, story time
8:30 he is allowed to watch a baby einstein dvd and he falls asleep to it, and he doesn't even wake up at all during the night, and than the day starts all over again. You need to have a daily routine and keep it, it may take a while for your child to get used to it, but eventually she will sleep through the night.

Being that I have a 6 month old son that had the same problem. At about 8-8:30pm I gave him some baby food, took him a bath, rubbed his body with baby lotion, and then a bottle. He sleeps every night now!

At five months, getting up every 4-6hrs is normal. Soon though they will start sleeping for longer periods of time. Could also try thickening up the last bottle before bed with some single grain rice cereal. But do everything in your power to not let him get his nights and days mixed up or you will become very miserable very fast.

My daughter started sleeping through the night around 6 months old. I tried to keep her awake more during the day. I tried to stimulate her with baby stuff to keep her from wanting to go to sleep.

Cereal. I have 2 boys 2 and 4 and another one on the way. I started putting cereal in their night time bottle at 1 month and they have both slept through the night sense.

Most Dr's will tell you not to do this. My son's Dr. on the other hand has 3 children and believes in it whole heartedly. It didn't hurt my boys at all.

i think its nice
the baby of 5 month should be full sleep and when awake then she should be active if not then need more sleep
Time is not fix for baby because its depend on the baby
and normally babies sleep in 18hours over 24
but if she sleeps in day then not sleep in night
and if she is sleeping in night then after sleep she wants some attention n care not sleep after sleep

Whats works for us with our son, was when he woke up(however many times at night in the beginning) was not to turn on any lights, or speak, and just feed, hed eat and pop rt on back to sleep, after bout week he stopped getting up at night, this was suggested by my ped. @ kaiser, and she also added that if i wanted, i could put some cereal in his last night bottle....works like a dream...lol, dnt expect to get up like u did prior to baby, but it does allow for longer periods of sleep, though keep in mind that all babies are different.

GET OVER IT! I am so sick of these lazy moms complaining! They are babies, they wake when they want, and sleep when they want. Why the hell did you bother to have a baby if caring for her would be so "hard" on you! Every child is different and there is nothing you can do! Here ya go, try like all the other lazy moms and let your poor baby cry herself back to sleep. Yeah, no wonder so many kids are messed up!
