No... But they sure do go well together in certain cases.

The mind and intellect and psyche of the individual decides their life choices and preferences... Music being among them but not as a cause or effect of any other. Loads of people listen to music completely sober. I'm sure they listen differently, but drugs are not a prerequisite or even an option to some people.

They are an important part of the experience to others...

Early Pink Floyd being the exception. You really have to be either completely insane or out of your mind on a psychotropic to enjoy old Floyd the right way.

Music does not make someone use drugs that is a decision they make on their own. However some music does seem to glorify drugs, violence, bad language and other things that are not appropriate for some younger listeners. It is important to understand the lyrics to what you are listening to so that you know where you stand on stuff then the music cant "make" you go where you should not.

i belive its half and half... those teen kids who are immature and idolize people like xhibit and 50 cent and eminem,, yes i belive they tend to wunna do whatever they are saying, drugs or violence... why do i say this?? because ive witnessed many kids falter under this... and admit to doing it because they do it.. However i believe some kids are more mature and do not care what they are saying, and just like the music in general.. It really just depends on the parents raisings and maturity level of the teens.

How about people taking responsibility for their decisions?! No, music, movies, the internet, whatever, don't make people do drugs. People make that unwise decision on their own.
