Short term effects are varied, but range from a whole slew of psychological effects. Since cannabis is a hallucinogenic drug, visual and auditory effects may occur. When people get "the munchies," it is an effect of the cannabinoids in marijuana, as they are very similarly shaped to certain molecules that give the sensation of hunger. These molecules bind to receptors in the brain, and give users the feeling of hunger that often cannot be satiated. Personally, everything just seems more exciting than it really is...

In my experience it creates euphoria for the user, the side effects would be lack of ambition or energy (not necesarily a bad thing) you will feel content, also eating food will be almost orgasmic. your perception of reality is altered slightly so it expands your mind in that respect. I would highly recommend using it for a while. Why the hell not? It supposedly effects your short term memory negatively, and causes paranoia.
