Being negatively stereotyped, or failing to live up to positive stereotypes?

Stereotypes are never good. No one lives up to positive stereotypes. No one can truly be classified by negative stereotypes.

1. It is better to show love and compassion for all people and you will be a good person just for doing so.

2. It is better to not classify yourself or anyone else by any stereotype.

If you can do both of the above, you will be happier and not judgmental.

Failing to live up to positive ones I would think.

If I am negatively stereotyped I just write it off to the ignorance of the person doing the stereotyping.
Failing to live up to something falls on my own head though, and the responsibility to be the best I can be is much more important to me.

Part of the problem in trying to live up to positive stereotype is that people will still hold you back withthe negative stereotypes and undercut whatever gains you are trying to achieve.

negative is always worse

Being negatively sterotyped. At least if you fail to live up to the positive you had a chance to do something and may get another shot.

both because neither will really tell you who that person is. what people say about another is just that "what they say" and "what they" say often times is not what is. . . i'm too concerned with finding out who a person is on a spiritual, emotional and intellectual level to be bothered with the non-sense of stereotypes . . .
