No kidding! I never thought I'd be one of those people that said things like "In my day" or "when I was a kid", but here I am.
We had simple action figures, Barbies, toy cars, dolls, jump ropes, rollerskates and baseballs and bats etc.
Whatever happened to kids using their IMAGINATION or GOING OUTSIDE?

You know, I was totally thinking about that just the other day when I saaw a commercial for- get this- a video game for babies!!!! It's called VSmile, I think, and it's actually an interactive video game that's supposed to be educational or something, but I saw the baby in the commercial playing with the joystick and I was like, "Oh, come on!!!!" Also, I was thinking about it the other day when I was in Target, looking for a toy doctor kit for my boyfriend's Halloween costume. Remember those? I finally found one, but I had to search for like 45 minutes among all the Bratz dolls (which look like hookers) and the really complicated Make Your Own Cotton Candy kits and all this interactive "educational" crap that looks more like it's responsible for giving kids ADD, and I was like, "Whatever happened to the Fisher-Price Little People?" It made me feel a) sad and b) old.

But we keep on buying them. don't we. I remember my kids playing with dolls until they were 10years old. and my son playing with his train set, or G I Joe, for the longest time. Oh there's something to be said about the Good Old Days. Now my grand kids want X boxes and toys that cost the same amount as my rent in 1961. Oh well Whatever will be will be.

I thought the complete opposite alot of things make me say dang we didn't have that as a kid (although I can't see kids actually playing with some of the stuff for long periods of time like we did)
Sorta like all the new baby stuff there making they got a pacifier that closes when you drop it!! Come on now what happened to picking it up and sucking off the dirt before putting it in your childs mouth ha, ha, ha I'M BEING SARCASTIC IT'S A JOKE!! =)

no kidding! I also wonder why they bring back classic toys then completely change it like the Holly Hobbie dolls. Why did they even bother to keep the same name?

They are just responding to what the consumer wants. I agree with you, they are very complicated.
