Verbal abuse is when someone puts you down with words or threats, the abuse part is when it hurts you emotionally. Fighting can be mixed with physical and/or verbal. Verbally abusing is when someone puts you down or threatens you constantly. Nobody has to stand for any kind of abuse, whether it be verbal or physical.

I think verbal abuse is any one calling another person name that is not in a kidding way or when they are angry and letting words fly. This does happen most of the time when two people are fighting but some times it doesnt.

Verbal abuse is like mental abuse. It's where words hurt more than fists. Verbal abuse is not really that different that physical abuse. Just rememeber that it someone is verbally abusing you then they are likely to be able to physically abuse you as well.

Fighting can be just saying things in the heat of the moment that you don't mean. Verbal abuse is name calling, or put downs about you or stuff you care about, without provocation, or because you are fighting at the moment.
