You might want to check out the Oriental Trading Company at www.orientaltrading.com. You can lots of party favor-type gifts and some bigger things as well. They have lots of cute little things for fairly reasonable prices and most things can be bought it bulk. Very useful for children.

Hawkins Bazaar is perfect, they have everything from a soap cat which grows fur to colour changing rubber ducks.
