there are no visible signs of leaking. I had to add water to my radiator too! Could not find any busted hoses. Just had a new valve and lifter job. It was in the mid 30's this morning. Where did my water go?

If the upper engine job was done recently, then the mechanic probably didn't 'purge' the coolant system completely. That would take a little time and some driving. Just put it to the top of fill line and watch it. If it continues to lose fluid, bring it in for service. If you have white smoke coming out of the exhaust AFTER the car is warmed up, then it is probably leaking into the engine through the intake manifold. Hope this helps!

I had a 2.8 V-6 Chevy that lost water mysteriously. It was a bad intake gasket. Take off the oil filler cap and see if there is a light tan foam or froth on it. and check to see if the oil is milky on the dip stick. If so, the coolant is going into the engine and will DESTROY IT. Good luck.

How long ago was the valve job?
They may not of filled it all the way, or when they filled it there could have been an air pocket that has since released.
And check your oil to make sure there's no antifreeze in there.

open the oil filler and look inside the cap, if its gooey and brown then you may have a faulty head gasket.

Also check for leaks under the car

its either running into a different part of your engine or somebody is draining it. because if there are no signs of leaking that would be the only thing i could think of why there wouldn't be there.
