Sounds like voting for something before voting against it.

There's an article in the Washington Post (or CNN - not sure) that talk about how Kerry is a bigger pariah in his own party than Bush allegedly is in his. Apparently, his schedule was freed up by these latest comments. Nobody wants him campaigning for them.

Congress works like this: a bill has a lot of little amendments tacked onto it, called "riders" that don't necessarily have anything to do with the actual bill. For instance, one can vote for a bill that contains a rider they can live with and then against a similar bill that contains a rider they cannot tolerate. That person's political opponents can then say that they voted against whatever, regardless of the rider.

Imagine a national defense bill that would appropriate money for body armor and other necessities to the Iraq war. Imagine a rider tacked on that earmarks 35 billion dollars to a statue of VI Lenin next to mount Rushmore. If the measure is voted down, does that mean that those who do so are against our troops?

Take a 5th grade civics class and you'll learn some of these things. "Schoolhouse Rock" is out on DVD, too. It might help you to understand our government.

Kerry has always shifted his position depending on what keeps him in the public eye. I kind of like his current ideas, but I know he will shift again. In other words, he can go to hell. I rather have a consistent as*hole (so at least I know what to expect) than a inconsistent "good guy" that may screw me over on the next public opinion shift.

What do you expect from a pathological liar like Kerry. He has a natural-born aversion to the truth. He lied to get himself awarded Purple Hearts he didn't deserve, he lied to get out of Viet Nam, he lied about the innocent men he bugged out on, he lied about how he voted and he's lying now. he wouldn't know the truth if someone smacked him across his long face with it. He's a despicable piece of lying trash and I hope that he gets payback for his treachery one day.

Yeah you're right. It reminds me of when Rumsfeld said before the war that they knew where the WMDs were and after they didn't find any he said "I never said we knew where they were." Or how Bush is now flip-floping on the whole "Stay the Course" rhetoric and is now saying "We're flexible."

Kerry thinks most americans agree with his disrespect of our country and our troops. He only came up with this lie when it became obvious that he had outraged most people.
