Keep in mind that you can never make everyone happy. But also keep in mind that you might just want to try and stand back and see what other people see about your intended. I married a man that my sister absolutely hated. I couldn't understand why...everyone else seemed to like him. I should have stood back and asked questions from her. I may still have married him, but I might have been forewarned of the control freak he actually was. My sister saw...no one else did. Keep an open mind to all possibilities.

YES! Damn right. I was dating a girl for 2 years and I wanted to marry her, but nobody in my family or circle of friends really liked her. Needless to say that was a major reason she broke up with me. She couldn't handle the rejection by people close to me.

I think my friends felt like I was abandoning them. Eventually, they got over it. My mom and I got into a huge fight before I got married, because she didn't think that I was ready, and she wanted me to learn from her mistakes. In the end, everyone was happy because they saw how much my husband and I cared for each other. We've been married for three years, and I'm glad that I didn't listen to my friends and family. I wouldn't trade my husband for the world.

Definelty by friends and to be quit frank I blew them off as well, many are just jealous of your happy moment s adn triumphs in life other just feel left out and the other few fear losing you as a good friend. So therefore they rather start getting use to it and leaving you be for a while...but don't feel bad...
