That 75% figure has been questioned by many figures in the field, Oppenheimer himself who wrote the study admitted there may be flaws. Genetic studies have revealed that there are large genetic differences between many Welsh and English people. The English are, as you say a hybrid of Anglo-Saxons, Norse and Celts all Northern European tribes with similar cultures (though not languages.) The term mongrel race isn't one I'd use to describe English people today but I would say we are a mix of different people. Also I think its worth pointing out the difference between peaceful immigration (as the Irish, the Jamaicans have done) and forceful invasion (Anglo-Saxons,the Norse) have done.
