Im looking for a quaility accoustic guitar, Ive spoke with my dad on the matter he has played for years and he has recommended either ovation, applause or gibson washburn. Ive looked a little on the internet and it seems ovation makes applause but the reviews ive read on them they dont seem to go over well. I am looking for a quality sound and a thin necked guitar. I already have an electric so i dont need one that plugs in im just looking for something to play around the house. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this? All help is appreciated thanks

I've played professionally for many years.

I can highly recommend the lower priced Ibanez and Yamahas.

I've also owned a few Samicks they have a remarkable sound considering they seem to be made of cheap plywood. And they are light!
I have one I still play for my own enjoyment because of it's bright sound. Not much projection for stage but nice bright sound.

My best suggestion would be to go to all the Pawn Shops you can find. A lot of good guitars show up there. I once saw a 1968 Martin D-28 "Dreadnought" with the Brazilian rosewood top in an Atlanta Pawn Shop.

If your looking for quality without the big price tag, check out ebay...... They have alot of good things you can buy without having to pay an arm and a leg for... Like recently I purchased a professional hair iron that usually costs $200 at the store for $25 at ebay..... What a Bargain!

Go with a Taylor something like the 310. They play just like electrics and even on their low end are quality instruments.
