My guess would be that since he didn't win the election, than most people are glad he didn't win. Voting for him left a horrible taste in my mouth, but I just couldn't vote for Bush. So after that election, i vowed to never again vote for the lesser of two evils, and instead vote my conscience...libertarian. Some said the reason Bush won was because america could imagine having a beer with Bush, and not with Kerry. I concur...me and Bush could get really wasted and have a great time. But that doesn't make a good president.

OK let me try it
Ready... I'm glad Kerry never made president.
There you go.
Actually I would be elated to yet another level if the Skull&Bones had chosen another way to get the money Saddam owed them, than making GW Bush president.
Sure with the presidental powers. Bush easily declared War on Saddam. But the big problem is the Skull&Bones still have not gotten their $80 billion back.
Go big Red Go

Yes, his comment was petty, but that just goes to show much disdain he has for us "common" people. The Vietnamese Army admit they were going to ask for a truce during the Viet Nam war, until the likes of him and Jane Fonda started their crap here in the states. There's even a picture of him in their museum showing him as a hero of their war. You'd think someone wanting to be the President of the United States would at least support the people who would defend the country he'd be running. This just another, in a long line of insults to our military by this clown. I knew in the 90's he was an elitist. The unit I was attached to in Boston used to ferry him, the mayor of Boston, and Ted (I tried to get her out of the car) Kennedy to Logan airport. Neither one of them would EVER return our salutes when they boarded the boat except the Mayor. That's a double insult considering Kerry was a Naval Officer.

Just think what the world would be like now if he was elected just two years ago.
Afganistan wouldn't be falling further into collapse.
North Koreans would have tested Nukes.
Iraq would be better off (if not entirely fixed).
We would have an adminstration that actually cared about truth instead of power.
That's just a few differences.

I never wanted Kerry to be President. I never wanted Bush to be President.
But, if you're going to hold a stupid remark against Kerry, then you have to hold the hundreds of stupid remarks against Bush.

Now...you really can't be serious?? What were my choices again?? Honestly...you can't be serious!! Let's see...we've had 911, Afghanistan, Iraq, issues with Korea now, our unemployment rate is skyrocketing, jobs are going overseas, hmm...Social Security/Medicare reform? (joke), need I say more?? Maybe Kerry wasn't the answer, but GW wasn't the answer either!

In all honesty, I don't think his comment was meant the way it was taken. I think he was comparing his college education (where he learned how to resolve conflicts without arguments aka wars) to George Bush's college years (where he learned the art of beer pong). Remember, Kerry went to Viet Nam - he knows soldiers aren't stupid. I think he was referring to the people who declare war, not those fighting it. What he meant was study hard and be intelligent, don't go off without the proper knowledge and get yourself stuck in quicksand.

His comment was petty. People have overreacted.
Kerry said nothing new. If you don't study, your choices are few, and you may have to join the military where you'll be stuck in Iraq.
I mean, when was the last time you saw a class honor applying for the ARMY?
