In terms of comet hunting, Shoemaker is the modern day Edmund Halley.
Sagan's hand has been into SO MANY different things I can't even begin to say what the most awesome thing about him was---probably taking the advanced science concepts and explaining in a way that doesn't go "over-the-heads" of the rest of us.
If I chose ONE of them as more awesome, I'd say Sagan.
