Yes. It's like saying, "Hi! How are you?" Then in the 2 hours they are telling you how they are, you're asking yourself why did I open my mouth?!?

Not often, but people will start a conversation with me and then look at me as if to get me to keep talking, when in reality I have nothing to say, be it because I'm bored or busy or whatever else, it's usually other people starting conversations with me. I have no small-talk reflex, I'm more captivated by someone who just jumps in and starts wanting to get to know me, rather than talking about themselves.

ohhhhhhhhh yes. And frequently wish I'd kept my stupid mouth shut. Some people you really don't want to talk to!
I had a friend who used to call me, ask something, I'd answer it, then there'd be this dead silence. Finally I'd say, 'are you there' she'd say 'yes'...more dead silence. The effect on me is to make me babble! I finally learned to say, 'well, if you don't have anything else you want to know...' and get off the phone! Took me a while, I guess, because she didn't do it every time, just most of the time.

Well, as a telephone worker I do that all the time, it is what a working day consists of. But of course I have it in real.. Ach you know what, why bother elaborate.

Yes there are certain people that I talk to from time to time that I wonder why I even bother being nice to because they are such pompus @ssholes.

Yes... I used to... unspoken words would just hang in the air, and it's weird... That's why I don't start conversations much anymore! :-)

yes SOMETIMES ILL CALL SOME ONE JUST BECAUSE IM BORED AND THEN IM LIKE WHY DID I EVEN GET ON THE DAMMN PHONE IN YHE FIRST PLACE ITS NOT THE OTHER PERSONS FAULT THATS JUST THE WAY I AM SOMETIME.
