LOL. That's funny.
What you need to do is to buy raid for fleas or some other kind of flea killer, then when they are all gone buy Frontline Plus to keep the pleas from coming back on your pet, which I am assuming you have one unless the rug came with fleas.

If its a real Persian rug it could be quite valuable.
Sell it and let some one else enjoy the fleas.
...........or get it treated which should not be expensive.
Seriously, if its old and in reasonable condition, get it cleaned professionally. Don't use cheap carpet cleaner/ stain remover as it will bleach the dye and you will finish up with white patches...................like I did. Big mistake!

You can get really good flea sprays from the vets, they work a treat you should be flying bite free in no time.
