No, the results of matches cannot be be declared null or void. Neither can any wickets taken by Akhtar or Asif be erased from their records. There are quite a few reasons fo this:

1. How does one prove that Akhtar and Asif were on performance enhancers during a particular match.
2. How does one erase a batsman's runs against Akhtar for no fault of thr batsman?
3. The tests were performed by PCB - not by ICC or the WADA.
4. No records were altered when Shane Warne was indicted by his board.
5. A drug offence cannot write away what has been happened on the field. The ICC admitted that umpire Hair's decision of charging the Pakistani team for ball-tampering was wrong. But the 5 run-penalty still remains in the scorecard.
5. Ben Johnson's drug tainted 9.79 seconds was included in the Guinness Book of Records. "''It would be ridiculous to say he didn't run the 100 meters in 9.79, because he clearly did" That's what they said.

However, there have been instances of records being altered by the ICC retrospectively. Please have a look here:

Not at all due to following reasons:

1)First of all it has not been established wheher they had taken drug either at the begining of a match or during the course of the match. The dope test was conducted just before departure of the team for the Champions Trophy.

2) There is no such provisions in the ICC Rules.

No, the record books will remain intact. Im sorry for Asif because he seemed to be a real find. But life will go on, and cricket will too. Hopefully the cricketers in Pak will learn from this not to take a huge advantage of their fan following thinking that will provide them immunity against any wrong-doings. For the first time, Pakis are behaving in a mature and socially acceptable way. I congratulate their authorities.
