I have realised before yes but truth be told i only realised when i heard my friends little girl humming a tune and i thought it was abc's but when i asked her what she was humming it was twinkle little star!
And just so you know i hummed it anyway when you asked! :)

Yeah I noticed it a few years ago when my son was a toddler, but before then never thought of it. Which came first? Twinkle, Twinkle or ABC's?
I think the ABC jingle was old school Sesame Streets doing and they used the Twinkle tune to help kids learn it.

Yes. As far as I know, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star was invented first, and the Alphabet Song used the same tune deliberately. Oh, and I also know a different tune that the Alphabet Song can also be sung to. :P
