Autumn. Pumpkin pies. Lacy holiday kitchen apron passed down through generations and worn only on Thanksgiving Day. Macy's Parade. A nippy walk with my father through the woods while the pies bake. Poker after the feast. Raiding all the leftovers in the fridge all night like a piglet. Good memories.

No work!!! Having to spend time with all the family members getting together and everyone putting in a little help to make the desserts, drinks, Turkey, all the good food!!!
My favorite is giving Thanks to God and everything we have been surrounded by all the good and bad that has happened to us never regretting a part of life!!! Good is always a Great Memory in our lives and Bad remains in History we learn from mistakes!!!
What do you like about Thanksgiving? If I may know?
Wish you and your family a Good one!!!

How everyone gathers around the table laughing and thanking . How the T.v is on and people are cooking and everything seems so busy but yet so clam. Pluse all the great food that everyone in your family makes. Then after Dinner everyone goes but up the christmas tree and the lights on the house and we get ready for December. Then Of course I know the next day is the busy shopping day of then year and that get me a little happy.

I just love being with my family. We don't even have a big dinner anymore. We just get together and have a buffet style meal (mostly sandwiches and salads).
We play cards and board games all day long. It is so relaxing and fun.
We used to do the huge dinner thing, but it was so stressful. We all enjoy this way much better.

Travelling to "Oak Knoll Ranch" and helping my lil brother and his wife with the whole traditional Turkey-Day thing... we end up with about 25-30 family members showing up.
For 6 years, my Turkey-days were overseas with the Navy... good food and friends... but just not 'family'.
The smell of turkey... sage... and breads. The burning of brush out in the fields... cold weather...
OH... and turkey sandwiches for DAYS afterwards !!

Besides the cooking. I really love bringing all the family together to enjoy each others company. So many families are scattered around so busy with thier lives, they tend to forget the family bonds.
Blessings

Family & food! Most people are lucky enough not to work that day & it's great to spend time with loved ones. But, be prepared to entertain. Unless you like football, you have to get inventive. I vote board games!

I think the best part is really passing out after eating... after that, stuffing with gravy is tied with macaroni and cheese. Don't get me wrong... I love turkey, but there's something so comforting about stuffing and macaroni and cheese.
Oh... I LOVE sweet potatoes, too. Whether they just be candied, sweet potato pudding, or pie. YUM!
