My cat puked on the basement stairs. I don't go down there often and was not aware of it, meanwhile my roomate stepped in it a few times. Once I was aware of it, I forgot to clean it up right away, went out for a few hours, remembered, went to clean it up, it was gone. I found it on my bedroom dresser. Note: I was not fighting with him, we have been friends for 10 years. He is a very passive aggressive person with a mean streak, but I can't believe he would do that! What should I do?

NOTE: It was an accident. I forgot for a couple of hours ... how does that make me such a terrible person? Don't you find something wrong with him for his reaction. He is the one who is very inconsiderate and leaves stuff all over the house, while I am the responsible, neat, head of the household.

What is wrong with you people? I am NOT concerned with why the cat puked .. a hairball perhaps! The cat is FINE, the roomate is NOT! I can't believe that his actions here are not generating a response of disgust for his rude behavior!!

Take a huge, steaming crap in his pillow case and leave it on his bed, if he complains about it, remind him of the cat puke he put on your dresser.

Go to him and tell him that you are very sorry that you forgot to pick it up. Then made a funny remark on how you found the puke on your dresser. Make it out to be something funny that he put it on the dresser to lighten the mood. Then clean it up RIGHT AWAY in the future.

Its not really okay to forget about it and go out for a few hours, especially if he stepped in it. Honestly you got what you deserved. The best thing to do is not forget about it anymore and take responsibility for your animal.
If your roommate is so passive aggressive and mean, maybe its time for a new room ate.

I lost my old cat about a year in the past less than similar situations. It nonetheless hurts.
