RM250 NO WAY!

250 Singapore dollar = roughly 500 Ringgit.
Maybe possible BUT you got to the eat minimum and spend minimum.

Simple maths as follows:

IF....
Three meals a day, RM9 (without drinks) x 30 = RM270 ; plus others for PUBLIC BUS transportation. Yes, forget about entertainment and that includes no handphone bills at all too. God bless you can make it.

ELSE IF....
Three meals a day plus drink for each meal, (RM3 + RM 1.20) x 3 x 30 = RM378 ; Definitely no buses for your main transportation too as you need to WALK most of the time.... haa... yes WALK from places to places, possible. Ehhh... how about entertainment? <--- Are you crazy? In your dreams sister!

ELSE ....

If you are talking about USD 250 = roughly RM917.50 (USD250 X 3.67) then you should be JUST okay. Ask your father to give you a minimum of RM1000. By the way, you can only make do with this range IF you are staying inside the campus and in public university such as USM in Penang. This range is also only possible if your father pay in advance the domitry fee which is per semester.

If you are studying private colleges/ university colleges, there is NO WAY you can survice with RM1000. You need a minimum of RM1500-2000 (including per MONTH house rent + electricity and water bills). Renting in Penang is not cheap either!

Tell you father nicely about this whole money allowance issue. I'm sure he will listen if can reason properly with facts. Goodluck!

Apply for the PTPTN loan if your father can't afford it.
Ultimately, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your own education you know?

"Education is an investment" ;-)

Wow, another whining , blaming Dem / Obama hater :( as IF medical and insurance companies , hospitals, doctors , pharmaceuticals are not greedy & also to blame for the high costs , limited care ,etc which have been ridiculously high, outrageous for a very long time , waaaay before Obama so your whining and blaming is as MOOT & FOOLISH as is any other - Dem or Rep ! What did you think politicians were going to cut off some of the political fund raisers, that doctors, insurance co's were going to take cuts, save money ... to suit the needs of the PEOPLE .. LOL ! You can always OPT OUT from the Cancer Care , which is what a lot of smart people are doing beings it's not about caring & curing but lots n lots of money for hospitals, docs & pharmaceuticals, etc. It's ridiculous what is charged for things like major medical care. I'd also be happier if Medical Care was not freely, " Given " to ANY, ILLEGAL, of any kind , many of which need to be " Deported " ;) !

Thats very old fashioned if you say that RM250 is the budget.
Its not enough. Food would most likely to exceed RM10 per day. That would feed you 25 days every month, and yyou would probably be living in the streets at Komtar!!!

250 pounds - yes.

250 RM- ask your father to stay there and he will know.

3.00 per meal and 30 day with 3 meals per day, so 90 X 3 = RM270, is that enough? Other living expenses?
