Hitler WAS trying to take over the world. Not just Austria, or Turkey, or Poland, etc...Churchill caught on after about 3 countries were taken by force. The US caught on much later...I believe the US was the last to enter the war.

Conspiracy theories are a house of cards that grasp on to minor bits of info and try to make connections where there are none. They often require a very negative view of other human beings and their motives. Usually people who are uninformed utilize them to make themselves feel as if they are "in on" a secret.

The 'Maine'(Spanish American War)..?? generally..by the time everybody finds about them...everyone involved is either dead or does not care. People have a short memory.
