my friend wants to make a web site that is for musicans and bands to put thier music online for others to find. It would be i guess similar to youtube maybe. I don't really know that much about this stuff. what do you think about this site? does it sound like a good idea

It's probably not worth the effort. There are many existing Web sites for independent music. Do a little hunting online. Here are a few (but there are many others):

It may be but every musician out there has their own web page on myspace.com. I would think it may be good though if you can put them all on one site but it has been done before over and over and over.
Try to find something that is unique but if you feel you can do better then what is out there then give it a shot.
