Well, good question.

Relationships, friendships are good when you have good person or people to have relatoinships or friendships with.

Until you meet such a person or people be careful of swindlers or selfish individuals.
Since relationships or friendships with such people only make you unhappy.

All human beings have social needs as a part of his or her nature.
Social needs getting fulfilled in the right way is good for one's overall health and growth.

Relationships are usually started by feelings of wanting to be around another person. You could chalk that up to the genetic drive to reproduce (like Stephen Jay Gould) or get more romantic with notions of having a soul mate, someone to share your dreams, a "partner in crime," et cetera. Most people would find a compatible mate enjoyable.

It's better to be alone if you don't feel like you currently have a compatible mate. "Issues" can mean lots of things. People can have issues but still love one another.

In some cases, it is much better to be alone than to be with someone when there's too many issue. Too many people are with someone just to be with someone and not be alone and that's just wrong. People need to learn to be happy with themselves and by themselves before they can truly find happiness with someone else.
